Are you stuck in a workout rut? Adding a high-energy kickboxing routine to your exercise schedule may be just what you need to get motivated and re-energized. Kickboxing workouts combine martial arts techniques with high-intensity cardio to give you a total body workout every time.

Kickboxing has many benefits, here are just a few to consider:

  1. Reduce Stress. It is easy to punch and kick your way to a stress-free zone within minutes! The high-energy routine encourages the flow of endorphins, reduces anxiety, and provides an outlet for any frustrations. Punching bags, roundhouse kicks and knee strikes don’t just reduce your stress level; they can also shrink your waistline.
  2. Increase Calorie Burn. Depending on your weight and intensity-level (among other factors), kickboxing can burn over 800 calories per hour. In addition to an increased calorie burn, you will also be toning your entire body and boosting your metabolism.
  3. Improve Coordination. Many people suffer from poor balance and coordination. Kickboxing can strengthen your core and improve your reflexes and coordination skills. How? By teaching you to stand and move for both right footed and left footed attacks as well as for changing directions in order to improve your position for a clean strike from your hands or feet.
  4. Improve Posture. One of the best benefits of kickboxing is that it helps improve your posture. If you are hunched over a computer all day, kickboxing workouts will challenge many muscle groups that do not get enough engagement throughout the day. The core muscles around the abdominal area are targeted since you are using your waist and abs for balance and to execute each carefully coordinated move.
